Last Wednesday (Jan. 20) was the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s inauguration, when he sent forth that clarion call to all Americans: “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” At the moment he spoke, I was but 10 weeks old, so I do not claim to remember a thing.
